FURIA TROPIKAL
WATCH
Furia Tropikal was founded in 1990 by Jose Ayala in Union City, New Jersey about 10 miles from Manhattan, New York. They began playing at family birthday parties and family and friends’ weddings. By playing Cumbia music and other rhythms, they saw people enjoy the memories brought back to them with the help of music from their background of origin.
In 1992, they were invited to perform at festivals and open up for big bands and groups like Niche, Banda Blanca, and Los Galos. In 1999, they recorded their first single, "Yo solo quiero", which opened up many doors in the music world!
As a band, they decided to move to North Carolina in 2004 and started to slowly establish their selves in Charlotte with the support of new members. Their new members also have the same Latin flavor as the Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, and more which helped make the band popular within the surrounding areas.
In 2006, Furia Tropikal was invited to perform in several events. One of the events was at a new Latin mall (Plaza Fiesta), which gave the band an opportunity to be known by the public, and to this day, they are our most loyal fans. Furia Tropikal performed at several major festivals in Charlotte and other big cities. Some of the festivals include the Colombia festival, Peruvian festival, the Latin festival in Orlando, Florida.
They still perform throughout the east coast with the support of very talented artists.
