Chamber Music by Women. Tresidig is pianist and musicologist Amy Zigler with saxophonists Nicolas Lira and Mary Huntimer. Their fall program highlights compositions ranging from the romantic music of Dame Ethel Smyth, and the lyrical chromaticism of Lucie Robert, to recent works of the American composers Alex Shapiro, and Pulitzer-Prize-winner Jennifer Higdon. program highlights include repertoire by Pulitzer Prize winner Jennifer Higdon, American composer Alex Shapiro, French composer Lucie Robert, and Ethyl Smyth's Piano Trio in D. Smyth was a pupil of Brahms, and a British suffragist. She was the first female composer to have her opera performed by The Met.
