A Massachusetts native and graduate of Harvard University and Berklee College of Music, Kyle Nasser has been described by Hrayr Attarian of All About Jazz as possessing “superlative musicianship as a performer, writer, and bandleader.”
Since moving to New York City in 2010, Nasser has played at many of the city's most prestigious venues (Blue Note, Smalls, Iridium, 55 Bar, and Cornelia Street Cafe), released a critically acclaimed solo album (Restive Soul), and toured in the United States and South America. He has shared the stage with jazz luminaries such as Jim Hall, Hank Jones, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Rich Perry, and many others.
In addition to leading his group, Nasser plays with and composes for the international collective Beekman. His newest release, “Persistent Fancy,” features his working sextet: Roman Filiu on alto saxophone, Jeff Miles on guitar, Dov Manski on piano, Nick Jost on bass, and Allan Mednard on drums.
