Jimmy Dillon, The Six String Man returns home to Mill Valley & The Sweetwater Music Hall.
Jimmy has deeply embedded roots in every square inch of The Sweetwater. To him, it’s his home turf, the intimate and cherished club he’s played more than any other venue in his life.
From the late 70’s with his band “The Edge”, through the 80’s and 90’s playing alongside The Big Man Clarence Clemons, his memories of the place are chock full of groovy times, good tunes, and great people.
Whether it be the numerous non profit Blue Star Music Camps he held for kids or playing with Carlos Santana, Bob Weir, John Lee Hooker, or Taj Mahal at The Sweetwater, this place is near and dear to his heart and illustrious career.
While currently living in Maui Hawai’i, Jimmy still considers Mill Valley and the Bay Area his home away from home and he can’t wait to celebrate with friends old and new. So come on down and experience a night to remember.
For this special homecoming evening, he’s bringing some of his favorite players and local friends to join in the festivities. So far, the lineup includes Dewayne Pate on bass, Kevin Hayes on drums, Dallis Craft on keys/vocals, Michael Peloquin on sax/harmonica/vocals and Mike Rose on trumpet. Plus, Tracy Blackman and Lorin Rowan will be two of the special guests for the evening. And who knows who else may show up!
Before leaving Mill Valley and embarking for Maui a few years ago, Jimmy had an epic send off party with many of the musicians who will be on this Feb 17th bill.
This reunion concert promises to be just like that and much more. This will be one Friday evening you won’t want to miss!
