After Theresa Renee's stellar Middle C debut this summer, she will be returning to pay homage to the "Queen of Soul," Aretha Franklin. Renee will give her take on hits such as "Respect, "A Natural Woman," and "Chain of Fools" along with some lesser-known gems that are sure to please.

Theresa Renee was born and raised in Washington DC. Theresa began singing in the 5th grade where she played Dorothy in The Wiz. She is the product of the DC public school system and a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she sang with the New Washingtonians Big Band. There she was exposed to a master class with DeeDee Bridgewater, toured in Croatia, and opened up for Diane Schuur. She also opened up for Pattie La'Belle and performed with Earth, Wind, and Fire. After graduating from Duke Ellington: Theresa studied at Howard University for 3 years as a Jazz Studies Major. There, she had the opportunity to participate as a background singer to various artists: Yolanda Adams, Kierra Sheard, former Destiny Child member Michele Williams, and for the Obama Celebration which was filmed and aired on BET. Theresa is a proud member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for women and also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. Theresa graduated in May 2020 with her Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the District of Columbia. While at UDC Theresa was the lead vocalist of the Calvin Jones Big Band. Theresa is currently a graduate student at North Carolina Central University working towards her M.A. in Jazz Studies.
Pianist and composer is an international touring and recording artist acting as a musical ambassador to audiences worldwide. While classically trained; his own group offers a modern take on the jazz trio configuration. Higgins enjoys exploring many musical genres and has played keyboards in many commercial settings such as R&B, pop, and fusion.
Higgins completed a B.M. in Jazz Performance at UNC-Wilmington, and an M.M. at Northern Illinois University, where he received a full scholarship to lead and compose for the NIU Liberace Sextet.
Higgins has opened for Dave Holland, Fourplay, Joe Lovano, Talib Kweli, Ryan Cohen, and Stefon Harris and Blackout.
