"Making Spirits Bright" is presented by the Berest Dance Center and danced by over 50 dancers ages 5-19. Joy co-exits with sorrow as the students dance about the need for love, unity and peace in the world. This is mixed with the delight of Peter Pan as seen in the eyes of children peeking into Santa's Workshop and the show ends with the celebration of the holiday season.
You will see beautiful dancing, sets and costumes. Showtime is approx. 1 1/2 hours which is perfect for young children.
Suitable for all ages, " Making Spirits Bright" brings ballet, tap, hip-hop, character dancing and music hall together in a spectacular event.
The audience is invited to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated to families of the Port Washington Children's Center (PWCC) and the Parent Resource Center (PRC) making this a gift giving performance.
The children in the audience participate at the intermission and are invited to dance with Olga Berest on stage as they learn the "Dance of the Mice and Soldiers" from the Nutcracker. This traditional invite has seen hundreds of children dancing over the years to the delight of parents and friends.
