Dave Watkins is a musician, instrument maker, and audio/visual artist living in Richmond, Virginia. He performs intricate, semi-improvised compositions on dulcitars which he designs and builds, in conjunction with an array of effects pedals, loopers, and other electronics. Merging elements of Appalachian folk, post-rock and math-rock, his music explores both minimalist and maximalist sonic landscapes without losing sight of pop sensibility.

Post Sixty Five has been described as “exciting and sexy in their exploration of the dichotomies of beauty and ugliness, of fullness and emptiness, of silence and chaos.” Images of summer and sweltering heat permeate the band’s lyrics, written by frontman and lyricist Hicham Benhallam. Laced with lush guitars, melodic bass lines, and energetic percussion, the band creates a sonic landscape that sets the scene for longing, love and destructive desire.
