SOLD OUT Center Stage: Cabaret

  March 9, 2019 2:00 PM
In a seedy nightclub, a master of ceremonies welcomes audiences from all walks of life with a gender-bending, musical extravaganza. Meanwhile, outside of this world of music and pleasure, life on the surrounding streets has become increasingly dangerous and violent. Society finds itself in a great political upheaval when all forms of public communication are inflamed with tribal diatribe, destroying the democracy that was once the foundation of the country. Cabaret examines the lives of a nightclub singer, a writer, local business owners, and nationalist party members during political descent into extremism.

Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
Book by Joe Masteroff
Directed and choreographed by Otis Sallid, 2018–2019 Kunkemueller Artist in Residence
