Demetruest (they/he) is a multifaceted artist hailing from the South Side of Chicago, blending the roles of singer, rapper, visual artist, vocal producer, and songwriter into a unique and compelling creative force. Demetruest’s music, characterized as dreamy futuristic soul with a gritty edge, is a medium for emotional release and self-discovery. Their latest EP, They All Kept Moving While I Stood Still, released on July 26th encourages listeners to pause, reflect, and embrace their authentic selves amidst the fast-paced demands of life, particularly within the Black, queer, and working-class communities. As they prepare for their debut album, Destination, Demetruest continues to lay the groundwork for a transformative musical journey, using their art to uplift and inspire people everywhere.
