Hey, Hey the Gang's All Here: A Chicago Barn Dance
Experience the role Chicago has played in the creation of 100 years of country music in this live radio show being recorded for broadcast on WFMT.

In April 1924, the Barn Dance premiered on WLS in Chicago, setting the stage for all that followed in country music, including the Grand Ole Opry. The show ran until 1969, at its height attracting live audiences in the thousands and listeners from across the nation, establishing Chicago as the home of country music.
What would an episode of the Barn Dance be like in 2024? This live radio show answers that question with conversation, poetry, and, of course, music.
Special guest appearances by Tara Betts, Paul Collins, Los Gallos, Girls of the Golden West, Kelly Hogan, Nikki Morgan, Hawk Nebula, Lawrence Peters, The Plant Chicago, Francesca Royster, Andrew Sa, and Marvin Tate.
Backed by a house band made up of Larry Beers, Justin Brown, Nolan Chin, Jim Cooper, Matt Gandurski, Katie Klocke, Lawrence Peters, Brent Roman, and Macie Stewart under the direction of Jeff Thomas. With a cast of Barry Irving, Laura McKenzie, Chris Rathjen, and Rachel Wilson under the direction of Joe Schupbach. Produced by Paul Durica and Meredith Milliron of Pocket Guide to Hell.
Special appearance by and thanks to Mark Guarino, author of Country and Midwestern: Chicago in the History of Country Music and the Folk Revival (2023).

Women and Children First will have books for sale.
Supported by Busy Beaver Button Co., Conrad Seipp Brewing Co., 312Tunes, and WFMT.
