NEXT LEVEL PLAYWRITING with Ian Finley. A four-session class for writers who have a draft of a script or a fully developed idea that they want to bring to fruition. Work will be tailored to the writer’s needs, exploring concerns like style, theme, and the unique challenges of producing for the stage. The class is four sessions, August 8, 15, 22, 29, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. located in Paul Cooper Studio.
IAN FINLEY holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University, where he earned the Harry Kondoleon Award for playwriting. He is the author of plays, including NATIVE (featured at the NCWN 2018 Fall Conference), THE NATURE OF THE NAUTILUS (winner of the Kennedy Center’s Jean Kennedy Smith Award 2002), and the OUR HISTORIES series of plays for Burning Coal Theatre Company. For this body of work, he was named the 2012 Piedmont Laureate.
