Born in Chicago, Illinois, Alicia Michelle "Miki" Howard was the daughter of two well-known gospel singers. Her father, Clay Graham, sang with the Pilgrim Jubiliees and her mother, Josephine Howard, was a member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees the Caravans.
Starting with her solo debut in 1986, Howard had a string of hit singles, charting on R&B and pop charts: “Come Share My Love,” “Baby Be Mine,” “That’s What Love Is” (w/Gerald Levert), "Ain't Nuthin' in the World," and many more. The R&B world has rarely seen such consistent greatness spanning five decades.
