Clayton Joseph Chenier

Clayton Joseph Chenier is Creole music royalty. His father, the legendary Clifton Chenier, invented the style of music we know today as Zydeco and was the first Creole musician to be recognized with a Grammy Award.

Chenier (along with Ringo Starr) was hand-picked by Paul Simon for his 1990 Rhythm of the Saints album which was nominated for Album of the Year and Producer of the Year. He was then invited to go with Simon for his sell out “Born at the Right Time Tour”.

He has also played with John Mayall, The Gin Blossoms, Ray Parker, Jr., Joe Sample, Jimmie Vaughan, Sonny Landreth and Buckwheat Zydeco.  He has appeared on The Jon Stewart Show and been featured on CNN.  He has performed at numerous music festivals around the world and is a consistent crowd pleaser for The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

C.J. performs with The Red Hot Louisiana Band as a Zydeco/Blues and Jam Band. He has a moving and dynamic solo storytelling and musical show outlining the history of the Chenier involvement in Zydeco music.  And he has a children’s show which is perfect for museums, schools, Performing Centers and more.

Marcia Ball

“Rollicking, playful, good-time blues and intimate, reflective balladry…her songs ring with emotional depth” – Rolling Stone

“A welcome ray of sunshine…Ball is a killer pianist, a great singer and songwriter. Potent blues, sweet zydeco, soulful, fast and furious Texas boogie…heartfelt, powerful and righteous” – Billboard

“Fifty years have passed in a flash,” says Texas-born, Louisiana-raised pianist, songwriter and vocalist Marcia Ball of her long and storied career. Ball, the 2018 Texas State Musician Of The Year, has won worldwide fame and countless fans for her ability to ignite a full-scale roadhouse rhythm and blues party every time she takes the stage. Her rollicking Texas boogies, swampy New Orleans ballads and groove-laden Gulf Coast blues have made her a one-of-a-kind favorite with music lovers all over the world. With each new release, her reputation as a profoundly soulful singer, a boundlessly talented pianist and a courageous, inventive songwriter continues to grow. Her love of the road has led to years of soul-satisfying performances at festivals, concert halls and clubs. The New York Times says, “Marcia Ball plays two-fisted New Orleans barrelhouse piano and sings in a husky, knowing voice about all the trouble men and women can get into on the way to a good time.” The Houston Chronicle says simply, “She’s as perfect as an artist can be.”

Sonny Landreth

New frontiers fit nicely atop the boundary breaking career of singer songwriter and slide guitar icon Sonny Landreth. From performing live with Buddy Guy and John Hiatt in theaters and arenas around the United States, to post New Orleans Jazz Fest jamming on bayou rhythms with Oteil Burbridge and Johnny Vidacovich, to recording and playing live with ukulele phenom Jake Shimabukuro at The Blue Note in Hawaii, it has been a noteworthy couple of years for the two-time Grammy nominee. And those are just his side projects.

Landreth apprenticed with zydeco king Clifton Cheniers Red Hot Louisiana Band and a host of other accomplished roots artists. Eric Clapton says, Sonny Landreth is probably the most underestimated musician on the planet, and also probably one of the most advanced. Landreth’s innovative guitar techniques have opened doors to new sonic textures and a complex tonal vocabulary. His expressive, ethereal guitar work can be heard on hundreds of recordings from artists ranging from John Mayall to Irma Thomas.
