At its core, as well as at first glance, WARRANT is an American rock band through and through. Formed in 1984, the Hollywood, CA based band rose through the ranks of the local and regional club scene to the level of multiplatinum selling, chart-topping (both on radio and MTV) success. What makes WARRANT different is that while countless bands have come and gone, this one has continued to play, record, and work hard to entertain live audiences to this very day; this ethic still translates into sellout crowds. They have weathered the trends and have come through the years a viable strong contender in the American and worldwide musical landscape. Whoever the audience (which transcends the traditional “80's/90's rock fans from back in the day” to include a much younger audience as well), the band remains as five very determined ROCKAHOLICS, happy and ready to rock every night. As live show fans still sing along with songs from the early years such as “Heaven”, “Down Boys”, “Sometimes She Cries”, “I Saw Red”, “Cherry Pie” and “Uncle Tom's Cabin”, the band released their latest album, Louder Harder Faster, in 2017. That same year, Warrant’s remake of Merle Haggard’s October 1980 No. 1 hit “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink” was adopted as PBR’s new party anthem. The Dirty 30 Tour kicked off in January 2018 in Houston, TX and continues on in 2019.

In 1990, Slaughter hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado – coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands they loved, KISS, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, “Up All Night,” certainly fits into that mold. Their second chart-topper, “Fly To The Angels,” was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band’s music and lyrics. But never was Slaughter more accurately represented than live onstage in front of their legions of devoted fans over the last ten years. Slaughter has shown that with perseverance and sheer talent, a band can survive and win over the support of fans regardless of what others may say about the quality of their music. What is most important is that their music is still here and the vast majority of critics who panned them in the past are not, and that is as good as gold. Here’s to 21 years of rock ‘n’ roll and the love of music and the love of life.

Get your chance to see both bands at Matt’s Automotive’s 10-Year Anniversary party in Fargo, ND on June 22.
