A Taste of Unexpected History: The Feastival at Wytheville - Bolling Wilson Hotel
June 9, 2018
6:00 PM
TICKETS ARE NO LONGER ON SALE FOR THIS EVENT. Do you love fine food and beautiful boutique hotels? Are you interested in antiques, architecture, and fascinating local history that dates back to before our country’s founding? You’ll find it all at the Feastival in Wytheville. Join us at the charmingly restored Bolling Wilson Hotel, where Chef J. C. Botero of Graze on Main will charm you with a meal that honors the diverse influences on local cuisine in Wytheville. A delicious collard-and-potato empanada to begin, an apple-bourbon pork entrée and a dessert pulled from the recipe files of Edith Bolling Wilson—the first lady who was born in Wytheville, and after whom this elegant historic hotel was named. Made with locally-sourced ingredients, Chef Botero’s menu reflects his Columbian origins, his expertise in American southern cooking, local history, and influence of the thriving African American community that has helped shape Southwest Virginia history. Our after-dinner concert will feature the heavenly harmonies of the Glorylanders of New River Valley, masters of a cappella gospel. Cultures came together here along the Great Wilderness Road. Come together with us and steep yourself in our past, present, and future. You’ll enjoy good company and memorable food and music. ~~~~ Feastival sponsored by Blue Ridge Beverage. This feastival will be at Bolling Wilson Hotel located at 170 E Main St, Wytheville, VA 24382. ~~~~ The Crooked Road’s Mountains of Music Homecoming is made possible by the support of the
