To Fan of Great Music,
Tuesday Night Béla Fleck brought his My Bluegrass Heart Show on the road and rocked the house here at The Kent Stage. Featuring an “All-Star” cast of bandmates, one stole the show - Sierra Hull!
We are happy to announce we are bringing Sierra Hull back in October along with special guests: Dead Horses.
Special Guests: Dead Horses
Live at The Kent Stage
Monday, October 25th at 8 P.M
In her first 25 years alone, Sierra Hull hit more milestones than many musicians accomplish in a lifetime. After making her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 10, the Tennessee raised virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age 12, then landed a deal with Rounder Records just a year later. Now 28 years old, Hull is set to deliver her fourth full-length for Rounder: an elegantly inventive and endlessly captivating album called 25 Trips. Revealing her profound warmth as a storyteller, 25 Trips finds Hull shedding light on the beauty and chaos and sometimes sorrow of growing up and getting older. To that end, the album’s title nods to a particularly momentous year of her life, including her marriage to fellow bluegrass musician Justin Moses and the release of her widely acclaimed album Weighted Mind—a Béla Fleck-produced effort nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
Dead Horses isn’t a band in the conventional sense. Rather, it’s an intimate, folk-inspired conversation between two close friends. At its core, the participants are guitarist/singer Sarah Vos and bassist Daniel Wolff. To date, Dead Horses has released three studio albums, an Audiotree Live Session, three singles, a two-song EP, and, most recently an eclectic five-song EP, Birds. Dead Horses weave together a vibrant patchwork of classic and contemporary influences that span trad roots, indie- folk, and other experimental musical idioms. Rolling Stone lauded the duo’s "smoky vocals [and] cinematic lyrics” and named the band an "Artist You Need to Know."
We are very excited to have Grammy Award Winner Sierra Hull come back to perform her fall 2021 tour here at The Kent Stage. The show starts at 8 P.M., with both the doors & box office opening one hour prior.
We continue to follow guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of Ohio and City of Kent Health Departments to combat Covid-19, along with our own policies/practices including hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue, completely touch-less restrooms, temperature checks prior to admission, and a mask recommendation for all unvaccinated patrons. However, there will be times when an artist or group requests additional guidelines to supplement the CDC’s, and it is our highest priority to acquiesce to those requests.
