The Freddie Bryant and Kaleidoscope Trio will feature Bryant on electric, nylon and 12-string guitars, Gregory Ryan on bass and Berklee professor Mark Walker on drums and will be joined by a saxophone legend, Bill Pierce. Pierce chaired the Woodwinds department at Berklee for decades and has performed with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Tony Williams and a host of jazz luminaries.
Freddie Bryant, a professor of guitar at Berklee College of Music, has performed in 54 countries, performing with musicians in most all of those countries. His music is rooted in the straight-ahead/US tradition yet has drawn inspiration from around the world. He has worked with Eliane Elias, Tom Harrell, the Mingus Orchestra and many others. Bryant is influenced by rhythms and styles from Brazil, Cuba, Spain, Africa, India, and the Middle-East with an unmistakable foundation in blues, gospel and bebop.
