The group has technically been around for nearly 10 years, but under the name Andre Costello and the Cool Minors. Starting out as a trio in 2012, 2 releases on vinyl, radio play, listens online, a live album performed and released in video and audio during the pandemic, the group decided to change course and start fresh as FORESTRY DIVISION.
Front man André Costello has been praised for his ability to write songs that “dance between the upbeat and the melancholic, often landing on both at once.”
On the upcoming record, Costello’s well-established ability to write a killer hook is paired on the new record with an intentional lack of urgency; some tracks sprawl into one another, building a dream of sorts, while others are straight odd-pop gold.

From the outside, Paul Luc’s story is seemingly normal. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he started playing guitar and joined a garage band in high school; from there, he attended a small college just south of the city, studied economics, and got a business job in healthcare. On the weekends, he'd play local shows, write music, and even put out his first album. But after years of working a grueling 9-5, Luc woke up one day, tired, bored, and unhappy with his situation -- and without a plan, quit corporate America. Since then, he’s harnessed his full energy toward making music. He’s toured throughout the country and caught the ear of the Americana world. As he geared up to release his third album, Paul Luc’s story rapidly grew into one with an authentic sound and relatable message for the masses.
