YAM YAM formed in late 2015, coming together from playing in an assortment of local bands in central PA.  The band is inspired by 1970s soul music, New Orleans roots of jazz music, and modern/vintage funk and jam music. YAM YAM features raw instruments and captures a high-energetic sound. YAM YAM is Mike Dempsey on keys, Jason Mescia on saxophone, Xander Moppin on bass, Tom Fuller on guitar, and Tyler Fuller on drums.

The band released its debut, self-titled album in late 2018 and upon its release, it charted on Billboard Jazz Albums section at No. 17. The band has opened for Lotus, Dopapod, and Keller Williams among others and has been featured in NepaScene, LiveForLiveMusic, TheBurg, and Burg in Focus.

The band is currently finishing up its second album, preparing for a release in 2020/2021.

The Moat Rats are a multi-genre musical group from Pittsburgh, PA. Each song is a unique intrinsic blend of genres taken from each members’ musical influences while planting roots in jam band and pop music. They are known for their high-energy live performances and close knit fanbase.

The group began as a collective of 10+ rotating musicians performing covers in bars/venues in the East Pittsburgh area. In 2017, the collective disbanded and settled into a 5-piece ensemble, Karli Blotzer (lead vocals), Liam Kress (vocals/keyboard), Brad Lang (guitar), Haley Held (bass guitar), James Held (drums). Together, they began focusing their efforts on writing original music. On December 31, 2018 they released their debut EP Sunday Gravy. Shortly after the release they welcomed permanent members Justin Benzino (saxophone) and Dylan Davey (guitar) reviving the big band energy they had always envisioned. In fall of 2019, Haley said farewell to The Moat Rats and passed the bass to Daniel Rouse at the release show of single “Fool’s Gold” held at The Thunderbird Café and Music Hall featuring local Pittsburgh favorites Abstract Theory, The Telephone Line and Sierra Sellers. Most recently, The Moat Rats have released their debut album, Year of the Rat available everywhere for streaming or download now!
