Tonic Sol-fa is an award-winning a cappella ensemble from Minnesota that has continued to grow and change since their formation more than two decades ago. Tonic Sol-fa began at St. John’s University in Central Minnesota and currently includes lead vocalist Shaun Johnson, tenor and vocal percussionist, Greg Bannwarth, and bass, Jared Dove.

Over time, the group reached national prominence with appearances on NBC’s Today Show and in Newsweek magazine, and by racking up more than two million in CD sales. Along the way, they shared the stage with a number of recognizable performers including Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy and the country group, Lonestar. They have even performed on A Prairie Home Companion several times with host Garrison Keillor.

The group embraces a number of different musical styles. In addition to original compositions, they have been known cover songs ranging from Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet,” to The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby,” to Ray Charles’ 1954 “I Got a Woman.”
