Join us to in-person to explore Mapping in the Islamic Tradition with James Madison University Professor of History, Dr. Shah Hanifi, and University of Colorado-Boulder Associate Scholar of Religious Studies, Dr. Karen Pinto.
Event will include a display of collection items curated by the Geography and Map and the African and Middle Eastern Divisions, and an acquisitions presentation from Geography and Map Division staff.

2:00 – 2:15pm Geography and Map Division Acquisitions Presentation in LJ-119.
2:15 – 4:30pm Special Joint Display with African Middle Eastern and Geography and Map Divisions in Mahogany Row, LJ-113.
3:00 – 4:00pm Ṣūrat al-Arḍ: Ways of Seeing Islamic Depictions of the World and Beyond given by Karen Pinto, Associate Scholar, Religious Studies, University of Colorado-Boulder in LJ-119.
4:00 – 5:00pm Reception in LJ-119 and Special Joint Display (closes at 4:30) in LJ-113.
