Stroll through the streets of Charleston while experiencing her beautiful gardens -- their design, history, and lush plantings. From majestic live oaks with limbs sweeping the ground and dripping with Spanish moss to the smallest of plants, this walk and talk will delight your senses. You will hear the stories of great plantsmen and women who helped shape the culture of the new colony and how their gardens both inspired and offered respite in good as well as troubled times. Meet at 147 King St. at 10 a.m. and wear comfortable walking shoes. The walk lasts approximately two hours. Note: NO private properties are included on this walkabout.
