"Music and Lyrics by Mark Hollmann. Book by Greg Kotis. Directed by Don Brewer. Musical direction by Alissa Hetzner and Andrew Toering.
After a 20-year water shortage, the government has banned private toilets - allowing a corrupt company to sweep in and charge outrageous fees for one of humanities basic needs. Set in an imagined postmodern world, this musical begs the question; is it a "privilege to pee?" Winner of three Tony Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious satire of capitalism, social irresponsibility and corporate mismanagement.
