The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre & Dance presents William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream
, adaptation by Stephen Wrentmore.
April 23 - 26, 2020
"It's the world turned upside down; through thunder and rain it finds a new normality," Stephen Wrentmore, director/adaptor.
Shakespeare's Rom-Com masterpiece comes to life in this new adaptation by director Stephen Wrentmore. The world is turned upside down and the Gods walk amongst us, using mortals as aphrodisiacs for their own conquests and fantasies. Young lovers are enchanted by fairies, men turned into asses, and all the while, our fairy-guide Puck revels in the chaos of this mid-summer love story. "All's well that ends well," as long as the Gods get to have a little fun along the way.
