LARGE AND UNCUT: CYNTHIA PLASTERCASTER ON THE SILVER SCREEN
Doors Open: 7:30 PM
Come celebrate the life of our friend, the extraordinary Cynthia Plaster Caster. Artist, writer and recovering groupie, this Chicago icon left us in April. Cynthia was known as the ultimate music fan but she also deeply loved film. In this program we honor her memory with her appearances on the big and small screen including rare clips, home movies and the feature documentary about her amazing life PLASTER CASTER.
PLASTER CASTER tells the story of Cythia’s development as an artist (in)famous for casting rock stars' penises, tracing her remarkable life from giggling Beatlemaniac groupie to her acceptance by the fine art world. From meeting her mentor Frank Zappa to her notorious encounters with Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Kiss. Sharing their experiences are some of most notable friends and castees including the late Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience), Eric Burden (The Animals), Jello Biafra (The Dead Kennedys), Suzi Gardner (L7) Wayne Kramer (The MC5).
