Shawn Brown Band
PDX singer-songwriter Shawn Brown is set to drop his newest single “Road of Bones” for a 6/2/23 release. Brown levels up his unique folk/songwriter sound, while diving headfirst into his pop sensibility resulting in one of his catchiest songs to-date. “Road of Bones” is the follow-up to Brown's breakthrough 2022 EP The Rain Parade and conjures that 90’s country-rock energy, which is not only timeless but recently has found a resurgence with young and old listeners alike. The Rain Parade is available to stream now and “Road of Bones” will be available 6/2 on all worldwide streaming platforms.
Brown, recently named one of Portland's “Top 5 Indie Folk Artists”, has always buoyed his music between genres. While heavily influenced by soul singers, R&B, and guitar based pop — he has always leaned equally towards his deep love of the rootsier side of rock & roll.
Ben Landsverk
Ben Landsverk is an American composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Hailed as a "prominent Portland composer" (Bloomberg Magazine) and praised for his "stunning prowess on viola and mandolin" (Willamette Week), he is best known for his work as one half of the duo Wonderly. Their compositions include numerous podcast/radio theme songs, including the New York Times' The Daily and Cheryl Strayed's Dear Sugar Radio; many indie film scores and soundtracks, including James Westby's At the Video Store and Jon Garcia's Luz; and two studio albums, We Are and Story We Tell.
An active session musician and orchestral/choral arranger, Landsverk has worked with such musical luminaries as Father John Misty, Pink Martini, Storm Large, Smokey Robinson, Van Dyke Parks, Rachel Taylor Brown, Ruby Friedman, Holcombe Waller, Liz Vice, Kasey Anderson, Box Set, and Alela Diane. He is also the director of the Low Bar Chorale, Portland's own no-commitment, drop-in live rock/pop/alt-indie music singing experience.
Kasey Anderson
Kasey Anderson is a self-described "gradually retiring" songwriter whose songs have been recorded by Counting Crows, Star Anna among others. Anderson's own albums, of which there are seven, have garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, No Depression, Paste, NPR, Bob Lefsetz. Working primarily over his career with producers Eric Ambel and Kurt Bloch, Anderson has crafted a body of work that will endure, long after he's made good on his promise to hang it all up.
