Mental Health Awareness Showcase Featuring Mary Lambert

  October 7, 2019 8:00 PM
In the United States, one in five adults lives with a mental health condition - from depression to anxiety, to substance use disorders, to a spectrum of psychiatric disorders. Within the artist community, musicians are three times more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety than the general public. Mental health issues have a direct or indirect impact on everyone, through family, friends, coworkers, or peers. Despite the reach of mental illness, stigma and misunderstanding are widespread. The evening will feature student performances of vocal, instrumental, spoken word, poem, monologue, vignette, dance, or visual that champion the importance of advocacy for mental health support and services for all. In addition to these performances, we will hear from Guest Speakers and industry leaders advocating for mental health resources for the artist community.
