Stomatopod kicks off 2022 with the release of their third LP, "Competing With Hindsight," which was written during the COVID lockdown and recorded (fully masked) at Electrical Audio by Steve Albini. The band (Elliot Dicks, drums; John Huston, vocals/guitar; and Sharon Maloy, bass/backing vocals) all bring a unique component to the songwriting process. There’s some ‘60s psychedelic garage, ‘70s heavy riff-rock, ‘80s underground fuzz-pop and '90s grunge. If Stomatopod was a cake, you’d make it with a helping of 13th Floor Elevators, a dab of Uriah Heep, a schmear of the Wipers, 2 cups Husker Du and a heaping tablespoon of Mudhoney.

Mint Mile is a Chicago experimental rock band formed in 2015 by Tim Midyett (Silkworm, Bottomless Pit, SUNN O))) ), featuring Jeff Panall (drums), Justin Brown (guitar, pedal steel), Matthew Barnhart (bass), and Greg Norman (trumpet). The group’s most recent release, the sprawling, apocalyptic double LP Ambertron, was released as the COVID-19 epidemic hit and promptly sold out. "A stunner." - Chicago Reader. "A really remarkable album." - All The Young Punks

Retreaters formed on February 29th, 2020 in Chicago. Since then, they’ve released two EPs and performed for audiences all over the world (via the internet.) Every person who has played with the group has been in other bands, but they would rather tell you about their pets. Big chords, crazy rhythms, and melodies you can hang your hat on.
