Come hear the power and unity of the Lover Boyz, a long time band of Durham NC made up of some folks you may know. Check it out below. And do not miss this opportunity to hear this amazing singing / stepping group with amazing local musicians. This is a collaboration that will etch itself in your memory! The Lover Boyz:
My name is Mr L Ready known to the fellows as Less and raised in Amityville Long Island. I've enjoyed experiences such as sitting in with Los Lobos on percussions and recorded a single named Jody. I met the Lover boyz which was the match made in heaven. I really believe we've got something.
My name is Raymond Horton. I've been in Entertainer most of my life. I sing with a group named the Righteous and the Cimarron Band while doing background parts for hire. I filled one of the missing parts the Lover Boyz needed for the sound to mix perfectly. I love what I do.
I'm Pierce McCoy born 1955 by Ms Esther McCoy who allowed me in elementary school to do PTA entertainment for the parents and teachers Association and School faculty. This led to chorus and Jazz trios by the time I was in junior high school. I recorded "Where is She" by Blue Steam. I also did demos with John Key Nick Allen Cornerstone in Washington DC, the main ingredients in New York Atlantic Records production jobs for Atlantic Records including: Hamilton Bohannon under Atlantic Records contract the California Malibus Family Circle. The Lover Boyz is giving me the long awaited chance to do a production for this group with the needed help of the fellows. I believe you will be surprised and well entertained and please we want our fans to know we do it for them and enjoy it thank you.
The Band:
Phil Cook is a producer, filmmaker, collaborator and session musician living and working in Durham, NC.
Kym Register is the human in the front of Meltdown Rodeo and owner / curator @ The Pinhook.
Brevan Hampden is the Professor of Jazz Drums at UNCG, Co Director of Orquesta GarDel, and CFO of BreakAlive Studios.
Darion Alexander is a Grammy nominated song writer , Bass Player and arranger from Youngstown Ohio by way of Durham NC
Matt Phillips is a songwriter, guitarist, sound engineer & piedmont yokel.
