“It’s with great excitement that we’re announcing The FIXX will be accompanied by Fastball on our upcoming Fall tour. They’ll be replacing The English Beat who won’t be able to continue on. Current tickets will remain valid for all dates. We look forward to seeing starting this month! – The FIXX”
A note from The English Beat
"The English Beat will be rescheduling for Spring of 2022. Rescheduled Kent Stage date will be announced later this year. Refunds are also available at point of purchase."
the FIXX:
The FIXX formed in the late 1970’s out of London, England, when college friends Cy Curnin (vocals) and Adam Woods (drums) formed the group, initially calling themselves Portraits. The original lineup added the aforementioned two with Rupert Greenall (keyboard), Tony McGrail (guitar), and Russell Mckenzie (bass), the last of whom was later replaced by Charlie Barrett. Portraits issued two singles for Ariola Records: "Little Women" (1979), and "Hazards In The Home" (1980). Later in 1980, McGrail left, and the band added guitarist Jamie West-Oram and changed their name to The Fix. Since the 80’s the FIXX has continued to adapt to lineup changes, releasing 10 studio albums, while continuing to tour regularly around the world.
Fastball:
With nearly a quarter-century of music-making under their collective belt, the members of Fastball continue to extend and expand the band's widely loved body of work. The trio's catalog encompasses such memorable albums as their 1996 debut Make Your Mama Proud, their 1998 platinum breakthrough All the Pain Money Can Buy (which spawned the Grammy-nominated Top Five hit "The Way"), 2000's The Harsh Light of Day, 2004's Keep Your Wig On, 2009's Little White Lies and 2017's Step Into Light. www.fastballtheband.com
