It's that time again - the biggest FNMC event of the year!
Here's how it works: if you're interested in participating, send us a note BEFORE June 19, giving us your name and what instrument you'd like to play. Then, on the 20th, at Ramkat's Gas Hill Drinking Room, we will be drawing names out of a hat to form five bands. Five bands that may well include members who have never met before and may or may not have anything in common, musically. Each band will then have one month to put together a 30-minute set. Could be original material, could be covers, could be free-form improv - the 30-minutes is yours to fill, however you want to do it, on the big stage at The Ramkat.
This was one of the most fun projects we took on last year, and we're looking forward to big things this year, too!
The non-profit for this event will be IFB Solutions (https://ifbsolutions.org/). Here's a little information:
"To increase self-reliance and bolster personal independence, IFB Solutions Programs and Services link children who are blind or visually impaired to a wide range of recreational activities, practical courses, specialized vision products and adaptive technologies. These programs and services boost self-esteem, build confidence and develop skills for work and life."
