The Nashville Music Guide calls The Liquorsmith’s catalogue a “collection of some of the best music you’ll hear this year.” -Sherryl Craig, NMG

“…Only The Liquorsmith can so expertly consummate the event of drinking, finding and implementing the perfect touches to make sure your inebriation is unfettered and rivalrous.” -MacEagon Voyce, AXZ

“…Thams delivers such purity and honesty in his poetic lyrics that you can’t help but be drawn into the story he is sharing.” -Alex Feigin, Pancakes and Whisky, NYC

The Liquorsmith emerges from behind the bar to deliver his song, but to our gratification he does so in the loudest form possible; uncompromising in approach and pouring with intent. Like a perfectly crafted cocktail, balanced, slightly overproof, and yet exactly what you need after a long work week.

Andrew Carl Thams is The Liquorsmith. He writes about what matters to him and wraps his words in a presentation of song. With perpetually itchy feet, he currently hails from Atlanta, GA, by way of southern, northern and eastern regions of the United States. His sound is commonly categorized among modern Americana, but has been labeled as indie rock, outlaw country, and even “ramshackle pop” (Kimberly Chung, SF Gate)… though truth be told Thams would himself prefer to quote Jeff Tweedy’s, “Somewhere between punk rock and country.”

The Liquorsmith has made a national presence through his performances on stages of all sizes, most recently sharing bills with the like of The White Buffalo, Gil Landry (Old Crow Medicine Show), Stealth Ulvang (The Lumineers), Mt. Joy, Futurebirds, and countless others. He has received endorsements from in collaboration with Fender Guitars, Second Chance Brewing (who featured him in a recent commercial:, and Inhesion Studios ATL.

The Liquosmith perform solo and with full band accompaniment providing for a sound catered to any size stage and audience. Full band performances frequently feature dual percussionists as well as upright bass and layered harmonies.
