With one of soul music’s all time great names, The Chairmen of the Board has pleased music lovers for over 50 years. The group was formed in Detroit by song writing legends Holland Dozier Holland for their Invictus label. The group came out of the box strong in 1970 with the wonderful classic “Give Me Just A Little More Time.”
The Chairmen of the Board were among soul music’s most consistent hit makers, scoring big with “Pay To The Piper”, “Finder’s Keepers”, and “Chairmen of the Board.” Group leader General Johnson died on October 13, 2010; Danny Woods passed in 2018, and at the request of General Johnson to keep the legacy strong, forty-seven year member Ken Knox, continues to lead the group with new members, Thomas Hunter and Brandon Stevens and 6 musicians. In 2017, Knox, Hunter and Stevens released an album entitled “Words Left Unsaid”, written and produced by the writers of the iconic “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love, Melvin Steals, Mervin Steals and McKinley Jackson.
The Chairmen of the Board continues to please audiences across the pond and here in the states.
