New York City by way of New Orleans band Bedridden emerged from the bayou punk scene and developed into making heavy shoegaze inspired by Hum & Smashing Pumpkins. With blissed out fuzz and alternate tunings, bedridden batter intricate chord changes into compact pop structure.
Their charismatic song craft has upgraded from it's 4 track tape origins to the expansive clarity of Production by Aron Kobayashi Rich (of Momma) on their upcoming EP Amaetuer Heartthrob (Out Jan 27 via Julia's War) Playing with the likes of They Are Gutting A Body of Water, Hotline TNT, Momma, & Milly, they've been building a buzz off their kinetic live show. Singer/ Guitarist Jack Riley's lyrics explore the situational irony of nightlife, best expressed in the release's title: Amatuer Heartthrob. Start and stop riffs, curveball song shifts, & Loveless-esque whammy bends prove Bedridden have something distinct to offer the current wave of Shoegaze inspired artists.
