April 22nd Celebrates the Jamboree 90th Anniversary.
The Wheeling Jamboree originated in 1933 as a radio broadcast and then became known World-wide especially in the Canadian maritime provinces.
It is 2nd only to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry in longevity as a broadcast stage show and revered in the Country Music Industry by many Artists and Industry professionals.
The show takes place at Wheeling’s Capitol Theatre, where the show launched as a stage production after moving from the radio studios of AM Radio Station 1170 WWVA.
The Jamboree is famous for introducing young talent who often become household names such as Wheeling area native Brad Paisley who played in the Jamboree staff band for 10 years.
Rockland Road is made up of former lead singer of the band EXILE, Paul Martin, along with wife Jamie Allen Martin who is the daughter of Duane Allen of the Oakridge Boys.
They and their 4 children are creating a stir in the music industry that has not been seen since the days of the Osmond family with appearances at Dollywood, the Grand Ole Opry, The Huckabee TV Show and more. All vocalists who among them play 23 different instruments.
