Pre-requisite: Third Coast Level 5
Are you ready to seize the stage, just you and your partner? Whether you’re new to Duo performance or an existing team looking to hone your skills, this 4-week workshop is designed to elevate your performance.
We will split our time between working the core skills needed for a duo to shine and introducing a number of approaches, structures and mechanics that you can use in a set. We’ll dive deep with listening and soar high with play. We’ll practice No Waste Improv - where every word, facial expression, and action are viewed as a resource to propel your scene forward.
Get so connected that you can both read each other’s minds. Play with such abandon that you can discover the curve balls that will keep your partner on their toes. Be so present in the moment that you can field any move that comes your way. Led by Anne Veal with teaching assistant Carley Haggerty.
This class is appropriate for both individuals and improv partners. If you sign up as an individual you’ll get the chance to play with a wide variety of people and stretch yourself in new ways. If you sign up as improv partners, you will spend 80% of the class working together.
Duos that sign up together each get a 10% discount. So grab a friend and start a team!
- All classes are 3 hours long and will occur over 4 weeks
- Students receive free admission to most shows at the theater all course long
- Third Coast is a safe, creative, and collaborative environment; any behavior to the contrary will be dealt with immediately
