Aries Season kicks-off with singer-songwriter Rachel Levitin's Birthday, so she's throwing a party at the Pie Shop with a bunch of her musically inclined friends. Join Rachel & her full band, Mona Speaks Mountains, Secret Beach, and some special guests for a night of original songs and a solid amount of guilty pleasure covers.

Rachel Levitin is a positively-charged pop-rocker whose been writing and performing original music for two decades. The Chicago born, Washington, DC based independent artist is known for her original songs, her work as an open mic host at Union Stage and Jammin' Java, her participation in the HERA Music Festival, and many other live music events throughout the DC metropolitan region.

With music as her life-long companion and creative inspiration, it led her to the Interlochen Center for the Arts during high school, through her undergraduate career at American University, the independent release of multiple albums, and multiple performance opportunities at prestigious venues including Washington, DC's Lincoln Theatre, Union Stage, and DC9, and New York City's Feinstein's 54 Below, Rockwood Music Hall and Arlene's Grocery.

Her original songs have led her to performance opportunities most recently opening up for Dan Bern, Emerson Hart (of Tonic), the duo of Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band) + Nick Cassarino (The Nth Power), and Irish Rock Band The Coronas. Reminiscent of her contemporaries Stevie Nicks, Meredith Brooks, and Sheryl Crow, Rachel is known for her uplifting lyrics and strong, soaring vocals.

Rachel's sound and expertise are well sought after evidenced in her participation as a guest on The Kojo Nnamdi Show on Washington, DC's NPR Affiliate 88.5 WAMU FM, and her original songs Get Back Up, Save Myself, Lucky Penny Blues, and Dreaming being featured there and on Northern Virginia's 96.7 WERA FM. In print, she was featured in the March 2018 edition of Arlington Magazine for her original community preservation project called The IOTA Chair.

As an avid promoter of new work and advocate for collaboration, Rachel is always open to hearing from anyone and everyone, both familiar and new, and she looks forward to working with you!
