Join the Department of Film, Video, Animation & New Genres at UWM’s Peck School of the Arts for a week-long animation day camp! Running June 17-21, 12pm–4pm in our Kenilworth Square East Building, East Building, this comprehensive experience will include workshops on Character Design, Storyboarding, Drawn Animation, and Stop Motion Animation throughout a series of hands-on studio time led by our department instructors.
Limited enrollment available to kids 10 - 17 years old. Students who are close to 10 at the time of the camp are accepted, under the understanding that the child will be required to participate through a rigorous 4 - hour work day.

Workshops
Storytelling & Storyboarding Workshops Learn about the 12 principles of animation and how to storyboard ideas for an animation production with instructor Hannah Hamalian. Students will also develop animation timing and spacing skills through experimentation with pixilation animation.
Drawn Animation Workshops Learn basic drawing and character design techniques with instructor Tim Decker. Practice basic drawn animation skills and shoot your animations!
Editing & Postproduction Workshops Learn to stop motion techniques and shoot your puppets to create a short animation with instructor Owen Klatte and Angie Glocka.
