J. H. Shuĭ Xiān
estrogendystopia/euphoricdysphoriA is a solo study in communal experiences specific to people of trans feminine identity and their relationships to times of hormonal change in the body-reminiscences of puberty, varietal narratives around hormone replacement therapy, and the search for, and forging of, self in inherently exclusionary cisnormative structures. Original sound score composed by Sophiaaaahjkl;8901 and Sam Murphey (Long Beach, CA).
StagNATION
Herbert Johnson III
Through choreographed and improvised Krump, Johnson's new quartet joins four internationally renowned dancers to explore the known and unknown capabilities of the human body and mind. The piece centers around each performer, Encore (Las Vegas), 7Starr (Montréal), Johnson, and Stain (Twin Cities), and their survival in a dystopian society which imposes assimilation, and where they must fend for themselves by all means necessary because no one there looks out for anyone but themselves. Once controlled by the powers that be and consequentially hurting one another, they experience failure before realizing that the best way to conquer is to unify. Original sound score by Krump music producer Sleek (New Haven).
Tickets purchased at the door on the day of the show will be $25. Advance Purchase Tickets: $20
