Join us for a bonanza of Talking Heads songs! In anticipation of David Byrne coming to Durham to play DPAC on May 10, we are going to sing three of his best “Heaven,” “Take Me to the River” and bonus song, “Burning Down the House.” Of course, “Take Me to The River” was written by Al Green, but Talking Heads also made it theirs, and for this event we are going to make it ours! Everybody is welcome at PopUp Chorus, regardless of vocal ability – seriously!
Let’s send out some love and respect for this greatest of all bands, Talking Heads. Check out videos and get ready to sing:

Are you new to PopUp Chorus? If so, here are the answers to a few questions that you may have…
Do you like to sing? Have you thought about joining a chorus but are too busy to commit? Do you sing in the shower, in your car, or along to the radio? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you belong in PopUp Chorus!
PopUp Chorus is the only chorus where you can show up when you want and skip it when you’re too busy. No audition, no weekly commitment. Just show up and sing with an ad hoc bunch of other lovely, excellent people. Together, we form a chorus, and are never the same group twice.
At each event, singers arrive and "learn" the pre-announced songs, guided by our fun and encouraging conductor, Amelia Shull. When each song is ready (we embrace imperfection!) we do a final run-through and then make a music video. It’s simple and could not be more fun. Our participants range in age from 5-75, and we welcome everybody, regardless of ability.Pop Up Chorus Website
