Virtual Art Workshop - Printmaking - Nina Simone
In this workshop, we will combine musical inspiration and the creative process. Join curator of African American Women’s History Angela Tate and printmaker Pantera Saint-Montaigne as we explore the artist, Nina Simone. While listening to one of her songs we will create a design for printing that’s influenced by her music.
Together we will learn the basics of designing, carving, and printing your rubber carving blocks onto fabric. We will also experiment with printing everyday objects, and you will be empowered to start your own block printing projects at home.
Space is limited. Tickets include the cost of materials needed for the activity, instructions, and postage.
