An interesting thing happens when an artist ditches gimmicks and masks; honest, unpretentious, full-bodied music is born. The Jason Adamo Band started with the man himself, a truly soulful singer with inspired lyrics and raspy falsetto. Although a long-time resident of Raleigh, NC, Adamo is also recognized as a staple in the New York City underground music scene and was featured in writer Heather Jacks' recent book and multimedia project on busking, The Noise Beneath The Apple. Jacks shines light on Adamo's Joe Cocker-like "bold grit and heart," and ability to take a captive audience from "engaged silence" to a "floor stomping, rollicking, good time."
Adamo recently garnered his first GOLD record as a songwriter with a cut on country artist Brett Young's debut album on the Big Machine Label Group. "Beautiful Believer" was co-written with Brett Young and Annie Wildgen.
In recent years, Jason Adamo has played shows all over the United States opening the show for many noted musicians-among them are:
Gavin DeGraw, Brett Young, Leon Russell, Pat McGee Band, Tony Lucca, Keaton Simons, Tim Reynolds (DMB Guitarist), Orianthi (Michael Jackson Guitarist), Bobby Long (ATO Recording Artist) Ryan Cabrera, Martin Sexton, The Lovell Sisters, Corey Smith, The Kin, Carbon Leaf, Tyrone Wells, Ernie Halter, Hobex, The Presidents of the United States, Better Than Ezra, Brandi Carlile, Dishwalla, Will Hoge, Brian VanderArk, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Caitlin Cary and Thad Cockrell.
As well as playing side stage for the following National Acts:
Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Damien Marley, Rogue Wave, The Allman Brothers Band, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Finger Eleven, Hootie and the Blowfish, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang, Arc Angels, Monte Montgomery, and Kenny Wayne Shepperd.
