W/ Junior Bloomer (Single Release) and Jack Wellsy
Starover Blue
The nostalgic tones of a Juno-106 combine with ambient layers, sparkling guitars, and airy, bittersweet vocals to define Portland dream pop band Starover Blue. Their latest single, “Larkspur,” showcases a different side of the group, taking inspiration from heavier-hitting indie rock versus the synth textures of 2019 LP Ordinary Magic and 2016 debut Spacegeist. A new LP is slated for 2023 release.
Founding members Kendall Sallay and Dirk Milotz began their musical partnership in 2007 in the San Jose State University music department and relocated the group to Portland in 2016. Live, the six-piece showcases lush vocal harmonies and pulls from a multi-faceted discography, appealing to fans of acts such as Cocteau Twins, Big Thief, Wye Oak, Beach House, The Joy Formidable, The Velvet Teen, Low Roar, and The Antlers.
Junior Bloomer
Junior Bloomer is the solo project of Andrew Harrison, a Portland, OR based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Harrison started writing songs at an early age, and over time has honed his craft into a heartfelt exploration of the human experience. With a sound reminiscent of early 2000’s emo and pop punk, Harrison adds a distinctive modern flare with consistent hooky guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and lyrics that are often as insightful as they are gut-punching. His new EP (recorded and produced by Ryan Oxford) leaves no stone unturned as Harrison explores themes of existentialism, addiction, failed relationships, and what it takes to grow as a human all through the lens of music that is supremely fun to listen to.
