Learn the story of the Grimke sisters, early abolitionists in Charleston. This history walk, based on the novel "Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd, follows the path of the Grimke sisters to recreate what life was like in Charleston for both whites and blacks during the 1800s. Your guide will show you highlights from the book, divulge untold stories and will complete the tale of the Grimke sisters and how these two women shaped future generations. Meet at 147 King St., 10 a.m. and wear comfortable walking shoes. The walk lasts approximately two hours. Note: NO private properties will be included.
