Edged Weapons for Everyday Carry: A Comprehensive Hands-On Workshop w/ Thomas Kier - September 14th
September 14, 2018
9:00 AM
9:00am-1:00pm
Why is it important to understand edged weapons? How does the anatomy of edged weapons apply to real life combative situations? What are the dangers of facing an edged weapon? Let’s explore these concepts further, adding carry concepts, template work, understanding the physiological response and effects of edged weapons and finally integrated combatives. We will answer certain questions and physically train the solutions. This workshop is a hands-on approach to the use and avoidance of combative edged weapons and how edged weapons can dovetail into your personal combative skill sets.
Please note: This course consists of light physical and hands-on activity. You should wear comfortable clothing and, because of the physical activity and the course of instruction, firearms are not permitted in this course. You may also want to consider not wearing a watch or certain other jewelry or carrying a cell-phone on your belt to avoid the possibility of damage. Participants must be 18 years or older. Participation is not advised for anyone who is pregnant or has an existing heart or other medical condition that may be affected by the physical activity.
About the Instructor: Thomas Kier is considered to be a subject matter expert (SME) by USSOCOM and holds a Master Instructor rank in Sayoc Kali “The Art of the Blade” with over 27 years of training in the system. He also holds full instructor and senior instructor ranks in other combative systems and is adept in striking and grappling systems as well as weapon-based systems. As the Director of Operations for Sayoc Tactical Group (STG) he has trained Military, Law Enforcement and Government Personnel for the last 20 years. As an Instructor in concealed carry applications, he helped develop the comprehensive Integrated Combatives Program (ICP) for certain military and government clients in 2005. The (ICP) combines Firearms, Edged Weapons, Striking and Grappling into a fluid and practical application of force. Tom continues to refine and develop the (ICP) for those interested in developing this capability.
These fee based courses are limited in size to allow for an interactive and hands-on learning experience. Ticket sales will close once the event has sold out.
