Acclaimed American singer-songwriter and producer Martin Sexton joins the 70 voice Family Folk Chorale for their 20th anniversary concert.
Martin Sexton has released 9 studio albums blending soul, gospel, country, rock, blues, and R&B. He is known for his powerful voice, wide vocal range, and dynamic live performances.
Music lovers across the generations will experience a unique and uplifting afternoon of songs spanning Martin's prolific career as a songwriter, as well as the thrill of Martin's incredible live performance backed by a 70 voice intergenerational chorus.
Syracuse native Sexton got his start singing in the streets and subways of Boston in the early 90's. Still fiercely independent and headlining venues from The Fillmore to Carnegie Hall, he has influenced a generation of contemporary artists. His songs have appeared in television series such as Scrubs and Parenthood and in numerous films, though it's his incendiary live show, honest lyrics, and vocal prowess that keep fans coming back for more.
The Family Folk Chorale is the Boston area's premier intergenerational chorus, led by Artistic Director Chris Eastburn, an award-winning composer and orchestrator. The chorus is backed by some of Boston's most versatile musicians, including Gary Backstrom, Ken Clarkson, Jed Rosen, Justin Martinez, Jonah Backstrom, and Quinn Eastburn.
