Rock and Roll Hall of Fame iconic drummer and vocalist Sam Lay is also a recipient of the National Recording Academy’s coveted Legends and Heroes Award and a Grammy nominee. Lay is a Blues Hall of Fame inductee in Chicago and Memphis, and is inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame in Los Angeles. He is an eight time nominee for a W.C. Handy Award for Best Instrumentalist. Sam Lay is among the very last of the founding fathers and living legends of Chicago Blues having recorded on over 45 historic Chess records as an original member of the bands of: Howling’ Wolf, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rodgers and Willie Dixon. Lay was also an original member of the Bob Dylan and the Paul Butterfield Bands, and later recorded and toured with the popular Siegel Schwall Band. This will be perhaps the last time to experience Sam Lay, a giant of the Blues, who was responsible for creating the Chicago sound.
Sam will be joined by his long-time friend and collaborator of over 50 years, legendary Blues Hall of Fame harmonica powerhouse Corky Siegel, who is also a superb piano man and clever singer-songwriter.
World percussion virtuoso phenomenon from India, Kalyan Pathak, rounds out the trifecta of music legends for this compelling, last chance to experience this combination that includes some of the most significant Blues artists to ever come out of Chicago.
