The Indie-Rockfest is an annual music festival celebrating independent artists in the Pittsburgh area! 100% of the admission costs goes to the artists performing!

This year we kick off the music festival season with supporting seven of the best independent music acts Pittsburgh has to offer! Everything from electronic, hip hop, and rock will be featured for an eclectic night of music you won’t forget!

Indie-Rockfest: Mission Statement
Indie Rockfest is a music festival that was founded by Nathan Jay (front man of Pittsburgh indie-rock band Standard Broadcast). His main objective for this event was to raise money and awareness to benefit local Pittsburgh independent musicians. Since 2016, this festival has grown not only in members and talent, but audience as well. With every year more money has been raised and then donated directly to these amazing artists. 100% of all proceeds are split evenly among the participants. The overall goal, with the help of sponsorship, is to raise enough money to allow for items such as studio recording’s, merchandise, and even funds to use towards websites and social media awareness for these acts.

If there’s anyone in the Pittsburgh area that wants to donate to help local musicians, I want them to be aware of THIS particular festival. Just as WQED has pledge drives, I’d love nothing more for this to be the one annual show that is known for directly helping the talented performers in this event financially. A new addition this year will be a container that will be located near the stage so people can feel free to make additional donations/tips if they feel the urge. Again, all proceeds are paid out directly to the bands that night. There are no promoters/backroom deals with venues for this festival, the only people benefiting are the artists themselves.

In closing, thank you for your interest, and continued support of this city’s amazing music scene!
