“The music that my father David Grisman and his close friend, Jerry Garcia, made in the early 90s (in the house that I grew up in) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded, it also triggers my oldest and fondest musical memories. What I find most inspiring about this material is the way their camaraderie and their love and joy for the music, simply oozes out of each recording. It is also impressive how deeply they get beneath their favorite songs—whether they are originals, covers or traditional/old time tunes—and how expertly that material was curated.
My goal in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a platform for my friends and me to showcase our genuine passion and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music. By playing some of their beloved repertoire and sharing the original music that our own collective has to offer, we will also show the impact that this music has had on our own individual musical voices. Ultimately, there is nothing that makes me happier than playing great songs with my best friends and my hope is to share that happiness with audiences all over!”
Doors open for event at 8pm.
Show starts at 9pm.

Electric Kif are a Miami-based power quartet that explore the boundaries between rock, jazz fusion and electronic drum & bass.
Made up of bassist Rodrigo Zambrano, keyboardist Jason Matthews, drummer Armando Lopez and guitarist Eric Escanes, Electric Kif formed as an outlet for the musicians to stretch out and be themselves between recording sessions and touring with other artists. They started played monthly at a tiny place called Lagniappe, which became their home-base in Miami. These nights became the time when the band would dive in to their own musicality, and chemistry was undeniable. The quartet clicked and there was no stopping them. On any given month you could witness fantastic musicianship, mind blowing grooves, and the occasional guest appearance from a national touring artist who knew if they showed up they would be challenged and delighted to play with these cats.

Sun JR.
The bastard son of a psychedelic-fueled desert orgy that no one will claim and resembles all who were there, including The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, The Band, and The Grateful Dead. Sun Jr. was raised in the shadows of their contemporaries, other bastard sons, and kindred cousins born from the same lineage, like My Morning Jacket, Local Natives, Alabama Shakes, Leftover Salmon, Lord Huron, Father John Misty, and Wilco. Influenced by the sounds of a diverse family tree, the real magic is in their ability to seamlessly implement new sounds from within their heritage. Never allowing the song structure to harness the impulse of the moment, Sun Jr. creates a wall of sound through their unique tapestry of folk, western, and rock n' roll sounds, phasered, and melded through swirling psychedelic effects and effortlessly slipping in and out of ethereal space ballads, dark surf swings, and swampy foot-stomping jams.
SUN JR. IS JIM HEEKIN - GUITAR/VOX, MATT KUBIS - BANJO/VOX, JEREMIAH STREETS - KEYS/BASS, JON SCHIMEK - PEDAL STEEL/GUITAR, NOD NORKUS - DRUMS
