For Lee Ritenour, there aren’t many ‘firsts’ left to achieve. During his dazzling five-decade career, the fabled LA guitarist has taken his music to the outer limits, alighting on every genre and occupying every position in the rock ‘n’ roll firmament. He’s been an enfant terrible of ’70s fusion, a crossover star of the ’80s pop chart, an honorary exponent of Brazilian jazz, and the fingers behind ’90s supergroup, Fourplay. Ritenour’s accolades include: 45 albums, Grammy award winner, plus 16 Grammy nominations, Alumnus of the year at USC, Los Angeles’ Jazz Society Honoree (2019), plus thousands of sessions with legends such as Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, B.B. King, Tony Bennett, among others.

And yet, the 68-year-old acknowledges he’s never made a record like Dreamcatcher. “People have been telling me for years: ‘Rit, you gotta make a solo guitar record’. In the past, I’ve always been the band guy, the ensemble guy, the collaborative-guitar-player guy. So this was the one project I hadn’t done. And this year, I knew it was time.”

Weaving tapestries of instrumental guitar and conjuring eclectic moods, the 12 tracks of Dreamcatcher rank amongst the most melodic and tinglingly beautiful in Ritenour’s catalogue. But there’s a power and purpose here, too, hinting at the darker circumstances that sparked this new record. “Our house and my studio in Malibu, California burnt down in 2018,” he recalls. “About 100 of my guitars went up in the fire, plus 40 amps, lots of music, the history of my whole career, pretty much. A week after the fire, I went to the hospital, which I’d never had to do before, for surgery to replace an aortic valve. So those incidents and the support from my family and friends absolutely went into this music. Making this record was a life-saver for me.”

 Dreamcatcher might have been born from personal challenges, but the record took shape against the global tragedy of Covid-19. Ritenour had already written several key tracks before shutdown. But as he settled into the makeshift studio at his new home in Marina Del Rey, equipped with little more than seven guitars, a computer interface and good intentions, the guitarist let the context flood into the music he was tracking. “It was an important album for me,” he notes. “Especially now, with everything going on in the world.”

Walter Beasley, born on May 24th, 1961, in El Centro, California, is a highly accomplished musician, composer, and professor. He holds the distinction of being the highest-selling full-time Professor/Recording Artist in modern history. With his unique blend of talent and educational expertise, Beasley has left an indelible mark on the world of music.

Beasley's journey in music began at a young age when he started singing with a band called Los Elegantes when he was just 13 years old. His passion for music drove him to pursue higher education, and in 1984, he graduated from Berklee College of Music. The very next year, Beasley became a professor at Berklee, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring musicians.

Throughout his illustrious career, Beasley has released an impressive discography of 27 albums, spanning from his self-titled debut album, "Walter Beasley," in 1987, to his most recent release, "Meet Me At My Place" in 2022. Walter Beasley, born on May 24th, 1961, in El Centro, California, is a highly accomplished musician, composer, and professor. Cuban-born pianist and composer Harold López-Nussa begins an exciting new chapter of his fascinating career with his Blue Note debut Timba a la Americana, a vibrant album teeming with joy and pathos that was inspired by the pianist’s recent decision to leave his Cuban homeland and begin a new life in France. Produced by Snarky Puppy bandleader Michael League, Timba a la Americana unveils a brand-new sound across 10 dynamic original compositions performed by a tight-knit band featuring harmonica virtuoso Grégoire Maret, Luques Curtis on bass, Bárbaro “Machito” Crespo on congas, and Harold’s brother Ruy Adrián López-Nussa on drums.

Harold traces the origins of Timba a la Americana to a day during his family’s first winter after leaving Cuba to live in Toulouse, France. It was cold. He was homesick. Harold found himself flipping through voice memos on his phone, listening to jams and fragments of song ideas he’d documented years before. These happened on gigs, or in the music space of his home, or on the street when he was seized with an idea. The little seedlings of songs ported him back to the rhythmic communication that was part of his everyday life in Cuba.

“It was emotional for me to be in France and listen back to these ideas from the past because the transition for me was not easy,” Harold recalls. “In Cuba, musicians would come to my house several times a week, to play, to party. My daughters grew up going to concerts every week. We were very active with music.”

Those recorded inspirations did more than simply sharpen Harold’s longing for his previous life halfway around the world. They confirmed what he already knew: His next creative moves were going to be different. Very different.

The pianist had released a string of acclaimed Latin jazz projects under his own name and participated in collaborative all-star assemblages like Ninety Miles with Stefon Harris, David Sanchez, and Christian Scott. Still, he felt a strong urge to escape the conventional thinking about song form and structure that’s defined Latin jazz since the 1950s. The ideas on his phone – lyrical melodies, intricate odd-meter vamps – suggested new freedoms, unconventional forms. He wrestled with the challenging shapes of the fragments until they became songs.

Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Fuller began his musical studies at age 11, immediately showing a talent for jazz.  At the extraordinary age of 13, Floyd “Candy” Johnson, a veteran of the Count Basie and Duke Ellington Orchestras, took Fuller under his wing, hiring him for regular paying gigs.  In his early years, Fuller became a regular on the Midwest jazz circuit, performing frequently in Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Larry Fuller has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops, Hollywood Bowl, the Kennedy Center, Bern International Jazz Festival, TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Shanghai Center Theater, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) Music Theater, Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley Seattle, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Blue Note (Milan, Tokyo, and NYC), A-Train (Berlin), Widderbar (Zurich), Tbilisi Event Hall, Porgy & Bess (Vienna), Duc des Lombards (Paris), and so many more.

Craft cocktails and small plates begin at 5:15 pm.

Singer. Songwriter. Arranger. Vocal Consultant. Multi-talented vocalist Angelica Baylor is no stranger to the stage, studio or the entertainment industry. Also often affectionately called, “Jelly”, this small-town Westmoreland County native still calls Virginia her home. Angelica is the embodiment of soul, faith, and favor. Her career as an international vocalist, has taken her all over the world; from London, England to the country of Uganda in East Africa. 

​Angelica, trendy, fashion forward, yet bubbly and down to earth, has always been ready to entertain an audience. ​After nearly a decade of continually singing with Ginuwine, in 2019 Angelica also joined a corporate band based out of Washington D.C. called Rhythm6. Rhythm6 has performed up and down the entire East Coast for A-List events, such as the Kennedy family’s wedding. Most recently, Angelica has been in the studio, creating original music and focusing on her solo brand. Since the start of this renewed musical journey, she has gained the attention of industry moguls such as R&B legend, Tony Terry.
